If you are not already a subscriber to Architectural Digest there is a great article about a new shop in Manhattan, Creel & Gow, which specializes in rare specimens from nature and artisanal objects. These curiosities are the perfect accessories and way to incorporate wonder and interest into a home or work environment. Their store is inspired by "the eccentric assortments of natural-history and art objects assembled by Renaissance nobles and early men of science" would collect. The due, Jamie Creel & Christopher Gow's shop specializes in "curios ranging from taxidermy peacocks and flamingos to ostrich eggs, rare minerals, coral branches, fossils, and even deconstructed lobsters under bell jars. Not to mention an array of of artisanal decorative objects." I've always been fascinated with natural and nature's inherent beauty. This is one store I intent to seek at on my next trip to Manhattan.
