A Laguna Beach Stroll

Laguna Beach is one of those special places in California where tourists and locals alike flock to every summer. What's the appeal? Beach obviously, great food and drink- a given, and of course the plethora of galleries and shops. Ever heard of or been to the Pageant of the Master. A MUST!

Laguna is a perfect day trip to soak in the sun, sip a chardonnay and people watch. A heed of warning- parking is difficult so come early like I did around 9:30 AM and you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a decent spot. I stayed around main street enjoying the beach scenes and capturing photos of the infamous lifeguard tower. Artist love recreating this landmark in their works. A nice way to spend a lazy Wednesday................. Be sure to try the fish tacos at 230 Forest Avenue. T I'm disappointed to say that I didn't have a mojito while I was there... hen walk to Tuvalu, a home and design store, full of beautiful artifacts and items for the home. You will want to buy everything here.

Summer isn't over YET!

Hello, lifeguard training......

"...A little gate itself is a common sign at small public houses by the road side, and on it is generally written, 'This gate hangs well, and hinders none, Refresh, and pay; And travel on.'"

All about the Blue!

What did we do before Pinterest? Look in Magazines? Pinterest has become a destination on the web for style inspiration and the other day I saw a look that I thought was adorable! I'm loving the denim  pants with a denim shirt. Some might call this the Canadian Tuxedo, but when done right- mixing a darker denim with a light denim creates a fetching outfit. I love how some of these individuals added their own accessories for a unique touch. I think this look is perfect that chilly summer night, which we tend to have in Newport. The wind comes off the ocean and.. Brrrr! I wore this look last night Huntington Beach for a friends going away party and got some compliments. Have a Nice WEEKEND!

Far East Delights

I recently had a friend visit me this weekend in Newport Beach, CA and I took her to some of my favorite local spots. Brunch at Sol Cocina by the water for mimosa and eggs- with chorizo of course! A stroll on Balboa island for window shopping and sightseeing and we finished our Sunday by stopping at one of my favorite home and garden stores in Orange County- Roger's Garden. Roger's Garden is a fabulous place for unique finds and one of a kind pieces. If you are one with a green thumb, or no of someone that is, the flowers and plants are some of the finest. It's easy to send an hour minimum here strolling through the grounds and popping into various buildings all full with little surprises that beckon to be searched out.  Currently, the shop has been set-up to showcase their collection of oriental pieces. I purchased two Chinese lanterns, but I have a feeling I will be going back for more.

Close-Up: Nature

Last weekend my fiance and I traveled to San Francisco for a wedding. We managed to get in some sightseeing and I didn't hesitate to bring the Nikon and practice taking photos. I managed to capture this image of this little bird from Alcatraz island. He was too cute and he put on a show with one of his songs. Happy Tuesday!

Business as Usual

With Easter over and now that Spring is here its time for out with the old and in with the new. One of my new projects is to revamp my logo. I started searching the internet for inspiration and came across the design work of Shou-Wei Tsai from London, England. I love his clean, modern, sophisticated branding and hope to emulate a similar style aesthetic with my logo along with my design work. I'm highlighting one of his projects because I love the black and gold colors and how he creates these dazzling cut outs that highlights the color palate. What do you think?
